In our opinion, there is no less appropriate place for the adversarial system of justice than in divorce/custody cases.  Admittedly, there are those at a point in time for whom the Courts will be the only forum.  But for the vast majority of families, mediation represents the best opportunity to move divorcing or divorced couples into a positive, cooperative post-divorced relationship.

For those parties who wish to remain cooperative as parents, who wish to divide their assets and debts fairly and equitably, and who wish to retain control over their own decisions and lives, mediation is the sane, cost-effective answer.

Ninety-five percent (95%) of the couples or ex-couples who agree to enter divorce/custody mediation successfully resolve their differences.  And these agreements almost always lead to lasting, long-term commitments to raise their children cooperatively.

*Studies conclude that children of divorcing parents are as well adapted mentally, emotionally and socially as children of intact families if three conditions exist:

    1) The parents speak to each other and of each other in a respectful way in front of the children.

    2) The parents are able to make decisions regarding the children cooperatively.

    3) There is regular contact with both parents - the younger the child, the smaller the time interval between times with each parent.

Mediation launches a newly divorcing or post-divorce couple into a new relationship based on their mutual love for their children and mutual respect for each as life-long parents of their children.

We are pleased to announce the creation of a revolutionary new web-based divorce site, www.OurDivorceAgreement.com.  With this tool, cooperative divorcing parents can make all of the decisions related to divorce through a series of self-guided forms.  Then, we can mediate any remaining issues by phone or video-conference!
