The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has launched a new Mediation program in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, coordinated out of the Indianapolis office by director, Karen Bellinger. The new pilot project hopes to reduce the backlog of cases and to offer claimants a quicker, more positive method for resolving complaints. The mediation program will handle Title VII complaints of violations of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, age discrimination claims and Americans with Disabilities Act violations.
Mediation First is one of several mediation organizations handling referrals in Kentucky and Southern Indiana for the Commission. Cases must be completed in sixty days, so the turn-around time in claims procedures should be dramatically lessened.
Mediation First handles human resource disputes of all types from the legal-related sexual harassment, discrimination, ADA, Family Leave types of disputes to interpersonal disputes in the work place.
